Tuesdays are our busy days. We have our homeschool coop, and then we have errands. A few times we’ve been lucky enough to have a playdate that day. I love it, but I’m starting to wish that Tuesdays were spread across a few days!

Our library is setting up for its March book sale, so we spent this morning at the Wenham Museum. Their main gallery is currently focused on “old” toys (which makes me feel old, as I played with most of them as a kid…), and the side-gallery was focused on a big export from the town of Wenham (close to us, on the North Shore of MA) during the time before electricity.

Any guesses? The kids were shocked.

Ice. It feels like such an unusual thing to “export”. They had a fake ice house set up too, and the kids could see the saw dust and the gap between the ice pieces, and everything. very cool.

After that, we went over to a friend’s house, had a nice lunch, and stayed to play until it was time to pick up B. This family has a son a little older than BG, so she and MG played with him (and rode bikes up and down their dead-end street). They also have a girl LG’s age and another little boy a year younger. LG was beside herself with glee! We also brought a Bob the Builder DVD that I’m reviewing Thursday, and watching it with a truck-obsessed boy is different than with the girls!

It was a great day, and it was wonderful to chat with the mom while the kids played. However, I’m exhausted! I haven’t had a day like that in months, and I’m doing well enough that I wasn’t sitting down the whole time. However, I should’ve been sitting down more than I was. I’m not as “better” as I think I am sometimes. Kids wanting to be picked up all the time doesn’t help, either.

So, there’s nothing quite like a “beer” (hard cider) at the end of a long day!

Tomorrow – the carpenter has been moved to 9am Wednesday! We’ll see what happens, but it would be exciting if it happens sooner rather than later!

Meanwhile – Missing a full day’s worth of email sets me way behind! Yeesh. I’m far too laptop dependent. I wanted to pull it out to Google how yoyos were used as weapons while we were at the museum…
