Rachel,

Thank you. Thank you. I literally almost wept with joy because you really got my book, and the way in which I wanted to convey my life, my complicated relationship with my mother and the choices I made and what I've learned from those choices. The heart of the book isn't about addiction, rather it's more about how integral a role a parent plays in a child's life, and how that parent shapes their child's subsequent relationships. Ours mothers are our first love, our first hurt, and who we are as women is utterly influenced by the kind of woman our mothers are.

And although I can say that it's taken many, many years to reverse a great deal of the damage that has already been done, I find myself wondering if I could be a good mother (do I want to be a mother?), and what sort of mother would I be?

Sorry to ramble - your review touched me, and it got my brain churning away :)

Thank you for your kind, compassionate and thoughtful review. My heart warms!

Cheers, Felicia
