If you are one of the few people who haven’t signed up for Netflix yet, let me tell you a story…

Once upon a time there was a family with a budget. Unfortunately, the amount of money flowing out of the household was more than the amount of money flowing into the household. So, while everyone loved the Netflix subscription (which was wonderful and had no late fees), it needed to be stopped. Thankfully, the lovely Netflix folks have an option for putting your account on “hold” for up to 3 months. That way your queue (a list of movies you want to watch – they send you the next movie(s) on the list when you return what you have) does not have to be (tediously) remade – queues can be hundreds of movies.

Netflix, Inc.

Well, after 3 months had passed, the good Father had created a budget that worked, and the wonderful Netflix subscription could be reactivated. The family had a 3 movie subscription – one movie for the Father (he has his own queue of movies set up within the system), and 2 movies for the kids and/or Mother.

While they were enjoying their movies again, Netflix sent them an email they had never received from a company – the price of their subscription had dropped! So they would be paying less each month! And still without late fees or nasty emails if they had it for a while (unlike the library, which has no late fees, but does email you if your movies are overdue).

There were joyous shouts and applause for the drop in prices and the wonderful movies the family could watch. Movies came fast (within 1-2 days), and were rarely scratched. If a movie was damaged or lost in transit, Netflix would fix the problem with a quick replacement. Their family was happy with the 3 movie at a time plan, but it was nice to know there were other plans for different prices for other families.

The family was so happy with the program, they gave Netflix 5/5 spotlights!
