I received a sample of Freeze It in the mail a while ago, and then again yesterday. I was in a lot of pain today, and decided to try it for my moderate to severe chronic joint and muscle pain. I had been using Bio-Freeze, but it is difficult to find – I either have to remember to call and order it, or I have to pay more through a distributor. I’ve tried other brands that are available at the local drug store, but none of them worked the way Bio-Freeze did – immediately, without a greasy feeling, and with a strong menthol scent that faded quickly. (At right is a picture of my newly pain-free knee with the Freeze-It gel after it was applied)

Well, Freeze It does work as well as BioFreeze. It is a green gel that is grease-less and with a strong menthol scent. I hate mint and menthol, but the scent fades relatively quickly. The pain relief is absolutely worth the smell! And since it is available in the drug stores I regularly frequent, it is easy to replenish my supply when it runs low!

I have a mixture of Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Lyme Disease, and Peripheral Neuropathy. I’m getting better, but I still have moderate to severe pain most days. Sometimes the pain meds don’t do much for a specific “hot spot”, and it helps to put a soothing gel on that specific area. Freeze It can help decrease the pain in a particular area, and make it easier to move around. I’d prefer not to be taking hard-core narcotics to get rid of the pain, so it’s lovely to have something that works externally. It’s also great to use Freeze It when most of my body is OK, but a particular area is causing serious pain – that way I don’t burden my body with a lot of internal pain meds for only one painful area.

Of course, getting rid of pain is priceless, but Freeze It is reasonably priced – I see it for about $10 a package, for a squeezable gel or (my favorite) a roll-on. Since it’s available at drug stores rather than mail order, you don’t have to pay shipping, and that makes them less expensive than their competitors (and less expensive than most of the in-store topical painkillers that don’t work half as well).

After using the Freeze It samples, I bought a roll-on container of it. It worked great on all of my hot-spots: hips, knees, neck, shoulders, and lower back. It didn’t work well on my wrists, but there are so many little bones and tendons and things in there, I didn’t have high hopes. Being able to walk to the restroom without wincing or crying after using Freeze It is wonderful. I’m so glad they sent me the samples, and I’ll be buying more soon. I highly recommend it to anyone with chronic or intermittent joint or muscle aches – especially if you lead a busy life and don’t want to sit around waiting for a painkiller to work! A topical (so it doesn’t interact with other meds) and almost immediate painkiller is a wonderful thing. I give it 5 spotlights out of 5:
