A month or so ago, we received one of the Ceaco pieceless puzzles from the manufacturer, because we review games for their game alter-ego, GameWright. Ceaco also sent out an email alerting us to their very cool video about the pieceless puzzles.

We received one of the age 12+ puzzles, and were intimidated by it at first (remember, my oldest child is 9). Once we started putting it together, it kept the 3 of us (LG didn’t really help) happily busy for about an hour. That’s a bit faster than I think it would have been with a “normal” puzzle, and we’re pretty good at puzzles.

Once you get started, you get a bit of a flow going, and the pieces start to fit together, so it’s definitely quicker than a regular puzzle, but that also means there’s a lot less frustration, and more fun. Even if they are a bit quicker than a “regular” puzzle, they are two-sided, so you’re going to put them together at least twice. Since you can’t lose pieces, you may well put it together many, many times!

I’d like to get one of the age 8+ puzzles for BG and MG to do on their own, without my help. Now that they know they can do the puzzles, they’re going to want to keep doing them! The way the pieceless puzzle is set up, the interlocking “pieces” latch together quite well, so it’s sturdier than most puzzles.

I love the idea of the ages 4+ puzzles for the little kids. It’s a perfect for kids who like to do the same puzzle again and again… You can’t lose the pieces!

Any puzzle-buying as presents this year would be Ceaco pieceless puzzless. We loved it, and in a house with 3 active kids and a dog who likes to horde toys, having a puzzle that can’t lose pieces is not just a cool trick, it means we can actually put the puzzle together more than once!

The puzzles can get a bit tangled, and the warnings say you can’t use it to tow a boat Even with those two negatives, the sturdiness, fun, and the part where you can’t lose pieces gives this 5 spotlights out of 5 - and that’s a consensus vote from all of the Gaggle!
